Welcome to Tehran SPIN – Tehran’s Software & Systems Process Improvement Network.
The Tehran Software & Systems Process Improvement Network (SPIN) was established on September 1, 2006.
Mission
The Tehran SPIN is a leadership forum for the free and open exchange of software process improvement experiences and practical ideas. We promote achieving higher levels of process maturity and software quality through an active program of networking, publications, recognition of excellence, and mutual support.
Tehran SPIN is an affiliate of the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.
The goal of Tehran is to sustain commitment, enhance skills and support technology transition through an active program of networking, publications, recognition of excellence and mutual support.
We feature special guests who are experts in the field of information systems and technology, including information security, business information integration, telework, quality improvement, creative and imaginative processes, applicability of total quality management versus socio-technical systems, and other important topics pressing information systems professionals.
Monthly meetings provide a forum to network and exchange ideas with other IT professionals, as well as a schedule of programs, which cover a variety of software process improvement topics with meeting held every month.
Membership in Tehran SPIN is free and open to anyone interested in sharing software process improvement concepts, principles and practices in information technology across all industries. Anyone interested in joining can easily do so by filling out the membership form. Companies interested in becoming sponsors can make their offer known by filling out a brief form on the sponsor page of the website.
Objectives
In carrying out its mission, the Tehran SPIN intends to accomplish the following objectives:
- Promote software productivity improvements
- Promote software process maturity
- Help foster and sustain organizational commitment to software process improvement
- Promote awareness of bottom line impact of software process improvement
- Transfer software improvement knowledge and innovation to all participants
- Share lessons learned with participants and other SPINs
- Promote cooperation among industry, academia, government, and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) with respect to software process improvement technology
- Co-sponsor national and regional software process engineering group workshops with the SEI
Organization
The Tehran SPIN is governed by Software Academy and organized as a Steering Committee, various working groups, general participants, and individual meeting coordinators. Steering Committee members, working group members, general participants, and meeting coordinators receive no remuneration for their services.
